Nigeria’s prolific singer and songwriter, AmarQah started learning to sing and write her own songs at about the age of thirteen. She was influenced by many artists including Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Mariah Carey, Bob Marley, Oumou Sangare and Babbie Mason. She was educated at Federal College of Education Pankshin and YWAM School of Worship, Port Harcourt. In her music journey, she has worked with Daps, Tar Ukoh, Jemima Mbaya, Doug Kazé and many others. AmarQah has released two studio albums, “A New Day” (2010) and “Nation’s Will Bow” (2012). She is currently working on a new album scheduled for release in 2019 by Rudeshock Records. “Gun Music” is taken from the new project.
AmarQah grew up watching her hometown subjected to ethnic and religious violence and now struggling to fulfill it destiny as an endowed city. Her new single, produced by Victor Itse Bala (VIC da Whizzle), is her way of lending her voice to the cry against meaningless violence.
